The Brief

The open09 un-conference was designed to explore, inform and create change in the Digital and Creative sectors. Sandbox wanted to provide delegates accessible and interactive information whilst attending the event.

The Product

I developed an iPhone application to provide RSS feeds for each of the events, along with delegate lists, general information for visitors to Preston, the ability to upload comments to our interactive hub, and watch live video feeds from the event.

The app connected to a bespoke PHP/mySQL based backend, which linked into the user account information from the open09 WordPress blogs. Live streaming video was delivered using Apple Quicktime Broadcaster and Wowza Media Server 2.
