The Brief

The Cultural Mapping Project was a joint venture by the University of Central Lancashire and Lancashire County Council, to explore the way people experience and interact with the city of Preston. The project had collected a lot of data over two years and wanted to be able to present it in an engaging and interactive way.

The Product

I developed a website which presents the data as clustered pins on a map. Users can drill down into the data by building a search using the search bar along the top, or view more specific data about an event or cluster by clicking on it. Partners can also log into the site to access data in a blog site view, and syndicate and extract data using GeoRSS.

Using existing data I developed the website in PHP/mySQL employing the Symfony framework.
